چکیده

Baby mustard has increased in popularity among consumers. However, baby is highly perishable. In this study, the influence of various modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) on visual quality and content soluble sugars glucosinolates during postharvest storage was studied. packed no holes (M0), microholes (M1), or macroholes (M2) polyethylene bags respectively, then stored at 20 °C. M1 M2 inhibit deterioration mustard, maintained content, as well prolonged shelf life compared with non-wrapped plants, most effective delaying decline parameters. By contrast, M0 accelerated quality. These findings indicate that provides a promising approach for maintaining nutritional ambient temperature.

Modified Atmosphere Packaging for Postharvest Storage of Mushrooms. A Review

Production and consumption of edible mushrooms have grown continuously in the last fifteen years, particularly due to interest in their nutritional and health benefits. The three most cultivated mushrooms worldwide are Agaricus bisporus (common mushrooms), Lentinus edodes (shiitake) and Pleurotus spp. (oyster mushroom). Mushrooms are highly perishable. They tend to lose quality right after harv...

Changes of postharvest quality in passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims) under modified atmosphere packaging conditions

The modified atmosphere packaging technique was explored in order to investigate the changes of passion fruit quality during low temperature storage. Three different types of packaging condition were used in this experiment. They were (i) P-UAP, a perforated low density polyethylene (LDPE), (ii) MAP-1, a LDPE with an oxygen transmission rate (OTR) of 1400016000 cm3/m2∙day∙atm, and (iii) MAP-2, ...

Thermal and pressure stability of myrosinase enzymes from black mustard (Brassica nigra L. W.D.J. Koch. var. nigra), brown mustard (Brassica juncea L. Czern. var. juncea) and yellow mustard (Sinapsis alba L. subsp. maire) seeds.

This study investigates the effects of temperature and pressure on inactivation of myrosinase extracted from black, brown and yellow mustard seeds. Brown mustard had higher myrosinase activity (2.75 un/mL) than black (1.50 un/mL) and yellow mustard (0.63 un/mL). The extent of enzyme inactivation increased with pressure (600-800 MPa) and temperature (30-70° C) for all the mustard seeds. However,...

Effects of modified atmosphere packaging on some quality attributes of a ready-to-eat salmon sushi

Sushi, a very popular food worldwide became a popular ready-to-eat food selling in supermarkets, but it exhibit distinct features, which are associated with microbiological hazards. Therefore, MAP technology, known to reduce aerobic bacteria in fishery products, was used to improve quality of ready-to-eat salmon sushi in this study. Salmon sushi were packaged with air (control), 50%N2 /50%CO2 (...

Application of Modified Atmosphere Packaging and Related Technology in Postharvest Handling of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are important source of carbohydrates, proteins, organic acids, vitamins and minerals for human nutrition. When plants or plant parts are used by humans, whether for food, or for aesthetic purpose, there is always a postharvest component. Postharvest losses in fresh fruits and vegetables may occur anywhere from the point where the food has been harvested or gathered up to ...
